***PHASE 1 - FILMING DATES IN CAPE TOWN***
April 8-10 (Wed. - Fri.), 12 (Sun.) *********************************************************************
We want to hear from you! We are seeking South African participants from all walks of life and backgrounds. A docuseries of several 15-20 minute episodes will precede the completion of the full documentary. Both will chronicle Foundational Black American (FBA) history and culture, as compared and juxtaposed to that of South African Coloureds, while exploring a full context of what it means to be Coloured in SA.
Our filming in Cape Town will be comprised of capturing footage from interviews with South African historians and every day SA Coloureds, as well as those of other South African ethnicities. The docuseries and documentary is intended solely to educate particularly FBAs and America as a whole, as well as the rest of the world, on South African Coloured history and culture and the meaning of being coloured, from the mouths of Coloureds. Most of the content from the docuseries will be included in the full documentary.
Participation in the docuseries/documentary is volunteer only - it will not be a paid opportunity.
***Participation Requirements:***
1. Must be 18 years of age OR older (no maximum age limit) - we want a mix of young, middle-age, and older seniors, from all economic backgrounds and professions.
2. Must be okay with being video recorded by our videographer for the docuseries and full documentary.
3. Must sign a release form granting us permission to use video and audio of each participant for the sole purpose of the docuseries and full documentary.
